Project Description

Millions of quantum computers will soon be used to solve the most complex problems of humanity at incredible speed. QSpice Labs will enable our customers to fast forward to the future of quantum computing, one that is quantum from the ground up.

Many different quantum computer architectures are currently being developed by both industry and academia. Superconducting is one of the most promising architectures, and has grown quickly due to its ability to repurpose existing technology in the semiconductor and telecom industries. Half of the companies building quantum computers are using superconducting qubits.

But controlling these superconducting qubits is a serious bottleneck hindering the development of useful, scalable quantum computers. Currently, each quantum computer company has its own makeshift solution for control, put together using commercially available classical technologies. This solution is costly, has a large footprint, and takes many labor hours to assemble.

QSpice Labs’ control hardware module will produce the signals that send instructions to the qubits. It will be made from the same materials as the quantum processor, bond directly with the Quantum Processing Unit (QPU), and occupy the same cold zone. It will produce low power, low noise signals required to operate qubits, and reduce the number of wires needed to control the QPU. It will shorten installation time and dramatically reduce the computer footprint.

The QSPICE Design Software is the first quantum circuit design tool in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry. This software will allow customers to simultaneously design all of the important aspects of quantum circuits, without having to switch back and forth between different classical EDA tools. It streamlines and improves the quantum circuit design process, and can be used throughout the entire iterative process of engineering better and better superconducting quantum devices.
