Knochen-Specker Theorem

A mathematical proof that quantum mechanics cannot be extended adding ‘non-contextual hidden variables’ to the theory without changing its statistical predictions. ‘Contextual’ means that added variables have to depend on the measurement configuration of the experimental setup. This extends the constraints placed on quantum theories by results such as Bell’s theorem.
